Student Accommodations
All students in the A&HST live with local host families. The home-stay experience is an essential and integral part of the program, offering students the opportunity to make life-long friends, practice the language skills acquired in the classroom, and experience modern Italian culture first hand.
“My semester abroad in Tuscany was absolutely amazing! The Arts & Humanities Semester in Tuscany program is wonderfully designed and offers many great opportunities to enrich your experience with service learning projects and excursions to other parts of Italy, things that would be difficult to arrange on your own. The faculty is incredibly friendly and the small class size makes the learning fun. Siena is a wonderful city and one of the best places to be if you want to be immersed in pure Italian culture. I got so much more out of my semester abroad than I ever expected to.”

Whether the student's host family consist of a single mother, a young married couple with children, or an elderly widow, all are carefully selected and all are experienced in hosting American students. Our host families view this experience as a form of cultural exchange and are eager to share their views and experience of Italian culture with their houseguests.
Living accommodations vary; most students will probably have a room mate, while some may have a single room.
